Loved reading this book and flying vicariously through Ed. I don't think I could have continued as a pilot after actually living the frightening experiences as he did. I actually feel as though I know Ed after reading about his triumphs and tragedies. This is an exciting true story that kept my interest throughout. I didn't expect a great book from a first time author. But the book was as professional as his pilot skills. An extremely good read.
This book was very interesting and informative. I really enjoyed this book. I do wish he had included pictures of him as a pilot and pictures of his family.
I have had the pleasure of being a passenger when Ed was flying for the Monroe City company. besides being an outstanding pilot he is a real gem of a person to know. always enjoyed the flights and visiting with him at basketball games or any place he may be.
I have been waiting on this one. Being a flying fan with a 12 year old grandson this is a "must read" for both of us. This little book made me laugh, cry and dream of the few months I did fly and yes, wish I had never quit.
As a professional pilot in my career I enjoyed and was able to sit in the seat with Ed as he enjoyed the Beauty and wonderment of a great flying career.
This is a profession where one can truly say Inever had a job and never had rigorous work!
Ed does a very good job of letting the reader walk along with him as he worked towards a dream career even though he had great jobs prior to starting to fly. One becomes truly happy when your dream is fulfilled. He was also very fortunate to have not only a lovely Lady by his side but also one that understood that her husbands Tru fulfillment of life was God, her and the girls and flying.
Mr. Dray provides a great read with his e-book. I thoroughly enjoyed it very much because it is easy to read, flows along very smoothly, has no cursing or ill will or grudges to vent, and it provides an uplifting and inspiring message. Many of these types of books focus only on the author's chosen profession and career. Ed humbly mixes career with personal dreams, family, faith, empathy, and total love of living all together to tell us his personal story of life everlasting. It is too bad there are not more books like this one.
I think I felt just about every emotion while reading this book, from smiles to sadness to yeah not quite smart enough to understand this paragraph so I'll just skip a little bit here) It was always evident that the writer loved his chosen profession, his life and most importantly his family. This was a good, easy read that reinforced my belief that hard work and dedication does get a person far in life.
